General Session — November 1st

Hastings is the Global Head of CSR for KPMG worldwide. He represents the company on the Global Corporate Citizenship International committee of the World Economic Forum and serves on the Oversight Board for Students in Free Enterprise. He is also a member of the World Business Council on Sustainable Development representing KPMG.

Previously he was the BBC’s first Head of Corporate Social Responsibility, communications and strategy adviser to the former Metropolitan Police Commissioner, and founding member of the Metropolitan Police Advisory Committee. He was also a former Commissioner with the Commission for Racial Equality and served as advisor on race relations in the UK.

With more than 23 years of experience in human resources and diversity issues, Banks drives diversity and inclusion efforts for Deloitte’s U.S. Firms. Her expertise includes organization effectiveness strategies such as diversity strategy design and implementation; diversity education; diversity leadership development; and workplace harassment prevention and intervention.

Before joining the Deloitte U.S. Firms in 2001, she served in Chief Diversity Officer roles at Equiva Services LLC (an alliance between Shell Oil U.S. and Saudi Aramco), Sears Roebuck and Co., and Abbott Laboratories. She also worked as a special agent in the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s white-collar crime and organized crime units.

Mitchell joined Wal-Mart in 2005 as Vice President of Executive and International Compensation.  Prior to joining Wal-Mart, Jeryl was Vice President of Human Resources at FedEx Freight; Assistant Vice President, Human Resources at CSX Corp.; Strategic Director, Human resources at Sea-Land Service, Inc. Her prior employment includes management positions with Goulds Pumps, Inc. and Niagara Mohawk Power Corp.

She also serves on various professional and business associations including the board of directors of the Memphis chapter of the Urban League, the Society for Human Resources Management, Senior Professional Human Resources and is a certified compensation professional.

Barbara Krumsiek

Krumsiek has led Calvert in several important initiatives pertaining to advancing women and minorities in business as CEO. Notably in 2004, with the support of the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM), the company created the Calvert Women’s Principles, a code of corporate conduct focusing on gender equality and women’s empowerment.

Also in 2004, Calvert created, and called on companies to adopt, model charter language for corporate nominating and governance committees focused on attaining diversity in corporate board rooms.

These initiatives were recognized in June 2007 when Krumsiek accepted the “Women of Concern” award from Concern Worldwide for ‘developing innovative and precedent setting initiatives that strive to empower women worldwide.’

Richard Macedonia

Macedonia is the former President and Chief Executive Officer of Sodexho, Inc., where he was responsible for overseeing the company’s six operating divisions. He was also a member of the Sodexho Alliance Executive Committee.

Macedonia began his career with the company in 1968 as a Unit Manager in the Campus Services Division, and joined Sodexho's Health Care Services Division in 1975 as a District Manager for the Southern New England region.

Under his direction, Sodexho has become an industry leader in the area of corporate diversity and has been recognized for its commitment to further enhancing a diverse and inclusive culture in the workplace.
